What Genre Do You Consider Yourself?

Once upon a time a funk surfer dude met a metal rocker and thus The Cover Letter was born. With influences from a diverse genre of bands including: The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul Mccartney, Modest Mouse, City and Colour, and Fleetwood Mac, The Cover Letter creates a unique sound that they consider indie rock with a folk twist. It doesn’t matter who is playing which instrument, they each bring their own individual influence to the music.

What was your first show like?

The Cover Letter’s first show was dedicated to a 5 year old girl named Pheobe, who was diagnosed with Leukemia. Her hometown hosted a benefit as a charity event for her that was filled with redneck races, beer, and emotion. The band performed in front of 100 people with Pheobe taking over the tambourine towards the end of it.
