Ian and Lauraa met at Revolution Bar in Bryan during their weekly Open Mic Night. Ian sang a song in Portuguese which immediately caught Lauraa’s attention. They quickly became good friends and after six months of Mic Nights and jamming together, they finally took the leap to start their own band, Cosmic Chaos.

Lauraa made the note that the “Chaos” part of the band is that they always have people coming in and out of the band. “Trey, Ian, and I tour together, but there are always people who come and go through shows”. She noted that some Cosmic Chaos performances include a bongo player and/or keys, so every performance is like a new show.

Trey, the newest member of the band, started playing drums for the band just in the past year and has taken a huge liking to being apart of the band. His favorite part of performing is “locking in” with the other band members and creating a tight sound.

Ian, a junior at Texas A&M University and also the bass player of Cosmic Chaos, said his favorite part of performing is “getting up in front of people and being able to put yourself out there and express yourself”. Becoming a performer for Ian was a big step in learning how to build his self-confidence and be himself in front of a crowd.

When asked how they would describe their genre of music, Lauraa and Trey agreed to call it a “psychedelic, surfy, tropical rock”. If you’d like to check out their music, you can check out their Bandcamp ( https://cosmicchaoss.bandcamp.com/releases ) which includes their newest released music!
